Kristen Anne Bell (born 1980) is an American actress and singer. Bell is born in 1980 and is a Michigan native born and raised by her parents, Lorelei Frygier (a nurse) as well as Tom Bell (a TV news director). Kristen is Polish (mother's) and German (father's), English, Irish and Scottish ancestry. Kristen was able to show a flair for the arts at a young stage. In 1992, she was awarded her first acting role in her audition in Raggedy Ann & Andy. Bell was signed by her mother as an agent when she was just thirteen years old. She was then cast for newspaper ads and TV commercials. Bell also began taking private acting classes around this time. Bell appeared as a guest in Polish Wedding (2000) in 1998, as an uncredited actress. Bell was a student at Shrine Catholic High School, where she was a member of the drama and music club. The Wizard of Oz was presented by the high school and she won the role of Dorothy. After graduation Bell moved in New York City to attend the prestigious Tisch School of the Arts in which she studied musical theater. in 2001 Bell quit her university in order to portray the character as Becky as Becky in Tom Sawyer. In the same year, she starred in Pootie Tang However, the scene in which Bell made an appearance was cut. This meant that only her credit sequence exists. Bell was featured in the Broadway revival of The Crucible starring Liam Neeson and Angela Bettis.
